انتقد عضو قيادة حزب البعث النائب عاصم قانصوه بشدة سياسة رئيس الجمهورية العماد ميشال سليمان الذي اتخذ منحى لم يعد بموجبه رئيسا لكل لبنان.
وقال لـ”الأنباء” الكويتية: “الحياد الذي اعتمد في “إعلان بعبدا” وقبله في مؤتمر الدوحة انتهى، ومثلهما سياسة النأي بالنفس”، مشيدا بمواقف وزير الخارجية عدنان منصور الذي رفض الضغوط اعتقادا بان النظام السوري دخل في “الكوما”، لكن هذا النظام مازال قائما، رغم مواقف الرئيس سليمان ورئيس حكومة تصريف الاعمال نجيب ميقاتي”.
وذكّر قانصوه بالاتفاقات المعقودة بين لبنان وسوريا منذ اتفاق الطائف، وتساءل عن مصير هذه الاتفاقات والمعاهدات، “في وقت يتقدم الرئيس سليمان بشكوى ضد سوريا، بسبب مروحية سورية دخلت الاراضي اللبنانية، بينما كانت تلاحق بعض الارهابيين، ولم ير الاحد عشر صاروخا التي سقطت على الهرمل”.
ولوح قانصوه بانتفاضة شعبية من كل الناس، ما يؤدي الى انفجار كبير، محملا السفيرة الاميركية مورا كونيللي المسؤولية، الرئيس اصبح من الطرف الآخر، ولم يعد محايدا.

In all civilized countries, parties, persons who are against the constitution, will be
treated like traitors and put in jail. In Lebanon everything runs the other
way. Traitor working for other countries and harming the Lebanese sovereignty become ministers, parliament’s president and parliament members. This is unbelievable. It is a pity with this Lebanon
