Jumblatt says no talks with Hezbollah
MP Walid Jumblatt, head of the Democratic Gathering bloc, said that there is nothing to say to Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, for his statements are getting more and more aggressive.
“There is nothing called a Druze-Sunni alliance; it is an Israeli political description,” Jumblatt said. “There is rather a national alliance based on the respect of international resolutions, the principles of the Cedar Revolution and objective relations with Syria,” he added.
“As long as pro-Syrian agents are still in the state, political assassinations will carry on,” Jumblatt declared.
“I am not for peace with Israel, but for respect of the 1949 Truce on the condition of solving the Palestinian problem on the basis of UN Security Council Resolution 194 and the full withdrawal from Lebanese soil,” he added.
