Minister Fatfat reiterates March 14’s right to a simple-majority quorum

 

Youth and Sports Minister Ahmed Fatfat reiterated the majority’s right to elect a president with a simple majority.

 

“This choice has been postponed in the hope of reaching an agreement between all factions,” Fatfat told the Emirati daily Al-Bayan.

 

“As of last Saturday, the government’s efforts are focused on preserving security and reaching a solution to the present crisis,” he added.

 

Fatfat said that the presidential session set for Friday, November 30 will not be a turning point. “It is still possible to reach an agreement before this date. We consider ourselves to be in a state of perpetual meeting until things are resolved,” he declared.
