March marks 18 years since Mouawad assassination

 

To mark the 18th anniversary of the assassination of late Lebanese President Rene Mouawad, a march was organized Monday in his hometown of Zghorta by the Independence Movement, headed by the slain president”s son, Michel Mouawad.

 

Participants in the march held candles, roses and pictures of the former president assassinated on November 22, 1989, just days after taking office.
