The Lebanese daily As-Safir said that Judge Serge Brammertz, former head of the International Investigation Commission into the murder of ex-Premier Rafik Hariri, will name suspects involved in the crime in his report to be submitted to the Security Council today.

The daily quoted a well-informed source at the UN as saying that the report will point the finger at four suspects.

“This will be the first report in which names of suspects are included,” said the source.

The source also noted that Brammertz was present at UN headquarters two days before submitting his reports.

“However, this time has delayed his arrival to New York, pending the Annapolis Conference in which UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon is participating,” said Michèle Montas, the UN Secretary General’s spokeswoman.

“It is obvious that the US does not want any information leaks at the conference,” the source added.
