Geagea: Amending the Constitution is an Option Under Consideration

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea said Wednesday that amending the nation”s constitution is “one of the options” being considered to settle the presidential crisis.

 

Geagea noted that all options are being considered to salvage Lebanon”s top post and “huge efforts are being exerted to fill in the vacuum at the presidential office as soon as possible.”

 

The Vatican ambassador to Lebanon, meanwhile, delivered a clear message from the holy see stressing on the necessity of holding presidential elections in Lebanon “irrespective of the difficulties and obstacles,” according to an LF press release.

 

It said he Vatican diplomat also “relayed the pope”s concern regarding the resulting vacuum in the Lebanese presidential office.”
