Fouad Saad: Lebanese President will be elected Tuesday
MP Fouad Saad declared that the election of General Michel Suleiman as Lebanon’s new president will definitely take place on Tuesday .
Saad told Al Markazia news agency that a consensus on Suleiman has been reached between the parliament majority and the opposition .
The last obstacles according to Saad were created by General Michel Aoun who insisted on an agreement on the makeup of the government that will be formed following the election of the new president . Aoun also insisted on limiting Suleiman’s term to 2 years . Aoun he said was trying to create new obstacles because he was not chosen as the next president .
Aoun’s obstacles threatened to break up his Reform and Change alliance with MP Michel Murr and MP Elias Skaff , who unconditionally support the election of Michel Suleiman .
