Samir Geagea: General Hajj’s assassination could be an indirect message to General Sleiman

 

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea said that the assassination of General Francois Hajj could be an indirect message to Army Commander General Michel Sleiman.

 

“I don’t know if it is a message from an outside party,” he added.

 

Geagea called for the election of General Sleiman as president as soon as possible regardless of any considerations, prior conditions or impossible demands.

 

“We support perusing dialogue in order to overcome the presidential vacuum,” Geagea said.

 

He also said that contrary to the statement of Syrian Vice President Farouk al-Sharaa, Syria’s allies in Lebanon are weaker than they used to be.
