Minister Al-Safadi: An amendment will revive constitutional institutions

 

Public Works Minister Mohammed Al-Safadi said that the ultimate objective of political activity in Lebanon is to preserve the national pact between the Lebanese.

 

“The government and parliament’s decisions must always push for this aim,” Safadi said.

 

“If circumstances require the amendment of the constitution in order to revive constitutional institutions, especially the presidency, then this should be done according to the spirit of national consensus and according to laws. This is what the government is doing,” Safadi said.

 

“The decisions of the cabinet must always take into consideration the national-consensus pact and the fulfillment of the country’s general interests,” he added.
