Nasrallah Outlines 4 Conditions for End of Crisis

Hizbullah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah has outlined four conditions for an end to the ongoing political crisis, according to Muslim scholar Fathi Yakan.

 

The daily Al Moustaqbal on Thursday said the conditions include agreement on a constitutional amendment allowing the election of Army Commander Gen. Michel Suleiman as president.

 

Other conditions consist of agreements on a national unity government and the new army chief as well as establishment of a timetable for amending the electoral law and holding elections in a period no later than the end of the current parliament term.

 

Al Moustaqbal quoted Yakan, who is part of the Hizbullah-led opposition, as holding the government responsible for “what could happen to Lebanon in the event that the situation remained grim.”
