Former President Amin Gemayel replies to Aoun’s accusations
Former President Amin Gemayel replied to MP Michel Aoun’s accusations that Gemayel and Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea stopped a meeting that was supposed to be held at Bkirki joining the three and the Marada leader, former Minister Sleiman Franjieh.
“If we review the latest statements of the French and Egyptian presidents and Russian officials, we know that the opposition and Syria, not the majority, are responsible for obstructing the presidential elections,” Gemayel said.
On Sunday, French President Nicolas Sarkozy declared that France will interrupt its relations with Syria until Damascus takes positive measures to ensure the presidential elections in Lebanon.
