National Bloc: The solution starts with the election of a president

 

The Executive Committee of the National Bloc party said in a statement that the solution to standard-of-living issues will not come from a magic wand or shining slogans, which can be fascinating in the first instance but have destructive effects in the long run.

 

“The solution begins with the election of a president, the revival of the parliament’s legislative role and the establishment of a government that implements laws preventing the assault on public places, collecting bills from all regions, protecting the Lebanese and ensuring their welfare,” the statement said.

 

It also called on the Lebanese to express solidarity with the Palestinians while waiting for a solution for the refugees and the establishment of a Palestinian state.

 

“Lebanon must be the last Arab country to sign a peace treaty with Israel, and not before the Palestinians are given all their rights,” the statement added.
