French Embassy denies warning nationals to flee

 

The French Embassy in Lebanon denied on Tuesday reports circulated by some media outlets claiming it had called on its citizens to prepare to evacuate the country “as soon as possible” in the aftermath of the violence that erupted in Beirut”s southern suburbs on Sunday.

 

“This information is nothing but pure imagination,” the embassy said in a statement. “During Sunday”s incidents in Dahiyeh, the embassy only called on its nationals to take precautionary security measures,” it added.
