Lebanese Forces: Fabricated accusations will lead to legal action against Media sources

 

The Lebanese Forces stated that some media sources, including the FPM and Al-Nashra websites, Al-Akhbar daily, and Manar and NTV television stations, have launched campaigns along with March 8 politicians aimed at disfiguring the realities of Sunday’s confrontations.

 

“The military investigation will reveal that claims made about the responsibility of the Lebanese Forces and Ain Al-Remmaneh residents for sniping activities during riots are untrue,” a statement by the Lebanese Forces media office said.

 

“Among the six people arrested by security forces at Ain Al-Remmaneh, only one person who is a member of the Customs Department was armed with an official department-issued gun. He was arrested in an area far

from the confrontation scene,” it added.

 

The statement also said that launching accusations and drawing conclusions ahead of the results of the army’s investigation will not benefit those launching the accusations.

 

“Such behavior is proof that those undertaking it have responsibility for Sunday’s riots.”

 

The Lebanese Forces called on its legal department to take the necessary legal steps against media outlets spreading rumors of the Lebanese Forces”s responsibility.
