
Sfeir: We Need a President who can Manage Lebanon”s Affairs
Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Sfeir said Friday that the campaign Lebanon was witnessing “is aimed at emptying the nation from its institutions.”
“We need a president who can manage the country”s affairs and not a president handcuffed with conditions,” Sfeir told a delegation of the March 14 dentist branch.
He stressed that “we should not rely on other people” to solve the political crisis in Lebanon.
“No one could salvage Lebanon except its people,” Sfeir emphasized.
Visitors also expressed the prelates” keenness for safeguarding security institutions, particularly after “targeting its highly proficient leaders through the series of assassinations that were followed by rumors of prejudice.”
Sfeir also urged the Lebanese to unite their ranks “because Lebanon cannot prosper or enjoy peace unless there is a united effort by all its citizens.”
