MP Samir Franjieh: The opposition’s commissioning of Aoun is a joke

 

MP Samir Franjieh said that if large crowds do not gather on February 14, it means that the majority of Lebanese are in favor of Syria’s return to Lebanon.

 

“On February 14, we will send a message to Lebanese factions saying that there is a majority calling for justice and independence. We are sending a message to foreign states saying that we will not wait for a green light, be it from the US or other countries,” Franjieh told the Future News Channel.

 

He also said that the opposition’s commissioning of MP Michel Aoun to negotiate with the majority is a “joke.”

 

“There is a Syrian decision to obstruct the presidential elections in Lebanon until the problem of the Special

Tribunal is solved,” he added.

 

Syria, however, has been saying that it is not concerned with the Special Tribunal for Lebanon.
