Gemayel Declared Uncontested Phalange Party President

Ex-President Amin Gemayel was declared Tuesday uncontested president of the Phalange Party, succeeding Karim Pakradoni, who resigned late last year.

 

Shaker Aoun and Salim Sayegh also were uncontested for the posts of first and second vice presidents, respectively, a statement reported.

 

The move came five days before the 28th extraordinary Phalange Party congress that would elect a new leadership for the party, the statement added.
