Gebran Bassil: Hezbollah’s possession of weapons is justified

 

Free Patriotic Movement Political Relations Officer Gebran Bassil said Hezbollah’s possession of weapons is justified because the group defends Lebanon and is trying to liberate occupied soil.

 

“The understanding between Hezbollah and the FPM remains the framework for solutions to any future problems,” he told LBC television.

 

Bassil said that the opposition is seeking a written agreement over a package-deal solution to Lebanon’s problems.

 

“MP Michel Aoun is waiting for the coming four-party meeting to get the answer to the questions he asked before deciding to resume discussions,” Bassil said.

 

He also said that the FPM is betting on Hezbollah’s wisdom in managing the battle against Israel while preserving the resistance’s legitimacy.
