Gemayel No New Ideas, and No to False Hopes
Ex-President Amin Gemayel on Tuesday denied reports that new ideas are being considered to settle the Lebanese crisis, saying the Arab Initiative is “stumbling.”
Gemayel, in a radio interview from the Saudi Capital of Riyadh, said the reported new ideas are “mere tranquilizers.”
He rejected meetings between the Majority and the Hizbullah-led opposition “prior to crystallizing serious and practical ideas.”
“We should avoid giving the citizens false hopes,” Gemayel stressed.
Gemayel said he expressed gratitude to King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz for the kingdom”s support and discussed with him latest developments in Lebanon and the region.
