Aoun: Arab and international initiatives aim to eliminate the opposition
MP Michel Aoun, head of the Change and Reform bloc, accused the majority of betting on war and not on its abilities, “while those who are trying to prevent war are the strength and power of the country.”
He also slammed Arab and international initiatives to end the crisis in Lebanon. “All initiatives are aimed at eliminating the opposition,” Aoun said at a meeting with an FPM student delegation in Rabieh.
“My message is always different from what you hear in society,” said Aoun. He added that while everyone is talking about war, he believes one will not occur.
“It seems that the majority is depending on war.”
Aoun denied relations with the Syrian-Iranian axis. “Are Syrians and Iranians interfering in our domestic affairs?
Are they sending warships off our coast and warplanes to violate our air space? Are they firing at farmers?”
“Those raising people to reject others cannot live in a democratic and free society, and their society will not be stable,” he added.
Aoun accused the majority of rejecting other groups. “The opposition is not acting as such,” he said.
