Chouf Christians celebrate Easter

 

Christians that follow the Western calendar, celebrated the Easter in the Chouf region of Mount Lebanon, by holding masses and prayers in several towns and villages.

 

In Deir el Qamar Church of Saidet et Talle Father Marcel Abi Khalil presided over a Mass in which he called for love, tolerance and preached the values of coexistence in Lebanon.

In Maaser el Chouf St. Michael Church Father Youssef Mezher presided over a mass in which he called for strengthening the unity between the all the Lebanese in order to protect their homeland.

Other masses were held in the village of el Harf, Damour, Naameh, Ikleem el Kharroub and other parts of the Chouf that called for love and understanding in all of Lebanon.

 

The Chouf region is the heartland of Mount Lebanon and is inhabited primarily by people of the Christian and Druze faiths.
