Saniora Ends Arab Visit
Prime Minister Fouad Saniora returned to Beirut early Thursday after a pan-Arab tour that focused on the ongoing political crisis in Lebanon and strained Lebanese-Syrian relations, the state-run National News Agency, NNA, reported.
Saniora”s tour included Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Bahrain.
Saniora on Wednesday discussed with the King of Bahrain Sheik Hamad Bin Issa al-Khalifa the possibility of convening a meeting of Arab foreign ministers to tackle Lebanese-Syrian relations.
NNA said in a dispatch from Manama that the talks also covered results of the latest Arab Summit and Lebanon developments.
Saniora also held a similar discussion with his counterpart Sheik Khalifa Bin Salman al-Khalifa, the report added without further elaboration.
