National Liberal Party: Election Prior to Dialogue
The National Liberal Party (NLP) on Friday rejected Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri”s call for dialogue, saying the nation”s priority is the election of a president.
The NLP, in a statement issued by its higher council that met under chairman Dory Chamoun, said it "totally rejects speaker Berri”s statement that equally treats presidential elections and dialogue, though they are two different topics."
It declared support for Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Sfeir”s call on MPs to elect a president on May 13.
