Hamadeh Asks Government to Discuss Hizbullah Telephones
Minister of Telecommunications Marwan Hamadeh on Friday asked the government to tackle the issue of illegal communication networks run by Hizbullah.
Hamadeh told reporters he referred the issue to the government to list it on its agenda.
The letter, he explained, requests "tackling the topic of illegal telephone networks spread across most Lebanese territories."
Hamadeh did not mention Hizbullah by name but referred to the violator of public law as "Lebanese sides."
However, Hizbullah is the only private entity running a non-legalized communications network covering south Lebanon, Beirut, parts of Mount and North Lebanon in addition to several sectors of the Bekaa Valley.
