Kouchner: Hizbullah”s Network is a Bad Indicator
French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner on Tuesday described Hizbullah”s communications network as a "bad indicator," noting that Beirut airport has long been under Hizbullah monitoring.
"The monitoring cameras are nothing new … the airport is in Shiite land east of Beirut," Kouchner said in answering a question.
However, he said the Hizbullah communications network is "a bad indicator. No one can say this network is a message of peace and hope. The network, as I understood, links Shiite areas."
Contacts Between Paris and Damascus remain blocked because of Syria”s stand on Lebanon, Kouchner said.
Kouchner added that he would be prepared to return to Lebanon "if it is necessary," stressing that he does not plan to launch any initiative that would "compete" with the efforts exerted by Arab league Secretary General Amr Moussa.
