Sleiman tackles unfinished diplomatic and administrative tasks from previous mandate

The Lebanese daily An-Nahar said that President Michel Sleiman yesterday began work on the diplomatic and administrative dossiers dating back to the previous presidential mandate.

Sleiman agreed to the appointment of 14 foreign ambassadors to Lebanon, from the US, France, Greece, Denmark, Holland, Norway, Romania, Poland, Turkey, Canada, Chili, Chad, Belgium and Germany.

The Lebanese Foreign Ministry informed these states of Sleiman’s approval of their ambassadors, who had avoided submitting their dossier to Lebanon’s former president.

Sleiman also approved the credentials of 35 ambassadors who were appointed on October 12, 2008, but who were refused approval from the former Lebanese president.

The daily also said that President Sleiman will sign off today on the promotions of Lebanese army and security officers that were due during the previous presidential mandate.
