Mufti Qabbani condemns the attack against the army
Grand Mufti of the Lebanese Republic Sheik Mohammed Rashid Qabbani condemned the attack on the Lebanese army post in North Lebanon.
“This terrorist act will not weaken the army’s determination to protect Lebanon,” Mufti Qabbani said.
“This crime is not only directed against the Lebanese army, but against all Lebanese who support and trust the military institution,” he added.
A Lebanese soldier was killed early on Saturday in a blast at an army intelligence post near the northern city of Tripoli and another explosive device was defused.
On the same day, the Lebanese army shot dead a would-be suicide bomber at a military checkpoint near the Ain al-Helweh refugee camp in the South.
