NLP accuses the opposition of using weapons to create a new reality
The National Liberal Party accused the opposition of obstructing the establishment of the government in order to achieve additional gains.
It also accused the opposition of intentionally causing the escalation of the situation, including using weapons to create a new political reality.
“Militia leaders have double standards when they call for preventing strife and civil destabilization,” the party said in a statement, referring to opposition leaders’ calls and opposition members’ actions on the street.
“Today we should drop the principle of ‘security based on consent’ and implement the Central Security Council’s decisions to control tension, only taking into consideration laws and regulations,” the statement read.
The NLP also called for bringing the perpetrators of the May violence to justice as well as for creating an emergency plan to manage the recent sharp increase in prices.
