Soueid: Doha Agreement failed because it is being impeded
March 14 General Coordinator and former MP Fares Soueid said that since the invasion of Beirut and the signing of the Doha Agreement, “Hezbollah has been going through a state of confusion that is being translated on the ground into security tension and the obstruction of the government’s establishment.”
“The security situation in Lebanon is bad, but this will facilitate the formation of the government,” Soueid told the Voice of Lebanon radio station.
“The social situation is pressing, and everyone is concerned with it, which will also have an impact on the formation of the government. This tense situation might lead to a solution,” he added.
According to Soueid, the Doha Agreement failed because it is being impeded. “All Arab and international friends must intervene to save it.”
He also noted that Lebanon is being caught between two projects, the first of which “consists of making Lebanon a society of resistance, thus exhausting both Israel and the Lebanese people. The second is to make Lebanon a civilized state that carries on relations with all countries,” he said.
