MP Jisr: Aoun’s additional demands have led to the partial suspension of negotiations
MP Samir Al-Jisr of the Future bloc said that the additional demands of MP Michel Aoun over the government have led to the partial suspension of the negotiations in this regard.
“Most of the problems have been solved and the consultations are still on in order to reach a solution that would satisfy everyone,” MP Jisr said.
“According to the final agreement, the Defense and Interior ministries would be given to president because of security situation. A sovereign ministry would be given to the opposition and the majority,” he added.
Jisr also noted that one of the scenarios consisted of giving Aoun the PM Deputy post and the Telecommunication ministry.
“Yet, Aoun demanded to handle Public Work and Telecommunication ministries, and this has led to the partial suspension of negotiations.”
According to Jisr, these two ministries are service ministries par excellence, and must not be handled by one side.
