Mirza Issues Charge Sheet in the Two Ziads Crime
Lebanon”s higher Attorney General Saeed Mirza on Tuesday sued 18 people for kidnapping and killing Ziad Ghandour and Ziad Qabalan in a crime that sparked uproar nearly two years ago.
All the defendants, except for a Syrian national, are Lebanese. Four are apprehended, eight have been released pending trial, one was released for non sufficient evidence and six remain at large.
Mirza charged nine defendants with crimes punishable by death, according to the charge sheet.
The Judicial Council, the highest court in Lebanon, is yet to set the trial date.
