MP Kabbara urges Sleiman to end Tripoli violence
MP Mohammad Kabbara of the Tripoli bloc said he feared the return of weapons in securing political gains. Kabbara said he also feared the recent violence would put Tripoli at the mercy of political pressure.
Kabbara called for the end of sedition and the manipulation of the lives of Tripoli residents.
He also called on the Lebanese army and security forces to fulfill their duties in maintaining security and controlling the chaos that “threatens the lives of citizens and their property in the capital of the north.”
Kabbara requested President Michel Sleiman give immediate instruction “for the army to be firm in maintaining security and imposing its authority.”
