MP Jisr: Security must be imposed, not asked for
MP Samir Jisr of the Future bloc said that the Lebanese army should have deployed in Tripoli and taken control of the situation from the very beginning.
“We say that security must be imposed, not asked for,” MP Jisr said.
“After the last ceasefire, we knew who was trying to reignite the fighting by looking at who was throwing the hand grenades and directing sniper fire at the people,” he added.
“What is the army intelligence doing?” Jisr asked.
“They have informers everywhere, and they know the identities of those responsible for the violence. Those responsible for these activities cannot be more than 15 people from both sides. Why don’t they arrest them?”
Jisr expressed hope that the army will deploy in both Jabal Mohsen and Bab al-Tabbaneh in order to prevent the situation from escalating again.
