MP Zahra: Shaker Al-Abssi and another figure
MP Antoine Zahra of the Lebanese Forces (LF) said his party would stand in solidarity with its allies in the pro-government March 14 alliance to defend Lebanon’s sovereignty and independence against every violation. “The Lebanese Forces’ negotiation with its allies in government reflects the effectiveness of their popular representation,” he noted.
At a ceremony in the northern coast town of Batroun, Zahra said Palestinian leader in Lebanon Shaker Al-Abssi and another figure, making a clear albeit indirect reference to Marada leader Sleiman Franjieh, implemented the orders of Syrian intelligence and covered the attempt to implement Wilayat al-Faqih [the Guardianship of the Jurist].
Zahra emphasized that Lebanese Forces were committed to the people of Lebanon and its sovereignty, freedom and independence. He also underlined the LF’s loyalty to “the martyrs of the Cedar Revolution, which did not start with March 14 but is as old as Christian presence in Lebanon and the East.”
