The government’s plan of action must be discussed extensively
Interior Minister Ziad Baroud said that the challenge facing the whole government is to drive Lebanon toward political and security stability.
“The national-unity government that has been established must put efforts over the security situation in order to ensure stability which is a concern for everyone,” Minister Baroud told NOW Lebanon.
“Security relies on a political decision,” he added.
Baroud also noted that the holding of the fair and free legislative elections requires the existence of appropriate political conditions.
“These elections must be governed by the spirit of competition and not confrontation.”
Commenting on the government’s plan of action, Baroud said that it must be discussed extensively but also adopted as soon as possible.
