Hariri in Baghdad for Talks on Bilateral Relations
MP Saad Hariri arrived in Baghdad on Thursday for talks with President Jalal Talabani and Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki on the situation in Iraq and Lebanon.
A statement issued by the office of the Iraqi Premiership said that MP Saad Hariri, head of the Lebanese Future bloc, arrived in Iraq on Thursday and met with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.
The statement said that Hariri and Maliki discussed the latest political developments in the region.
“Maliki stressed on the importance of the Lebanese consensus that culminated with the establishment of national unity government,” the statement read.
It also noted that Hariri praised the achievements of the Iraqi government and the increasingly stable security situation in the country.
Hariri furthermore is scheduled to meet Iraq”s parliament speaker and several MPs, according to NNA.
