Jumblat for Abrogating Prejudicial Treaties with Syria
Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblat called Monday for abrogating all prejudicial treaties with Syria and disbanding the Lebanese-Syrian Higher Council.
Jumblat made the call in an article to be published on Tuesday by the PSP”s weekly mouthpiece al-Anbaa.
Jumblat also criticized the Lebanese government for opposing a move by the International Criminal Court to sue Sudan”s President Omar al-Beshir in connection with Darfour crimes.
He cautioned that rejecting the ICC”s move could gradually lead to rejecting rules of the International Tribunal that would try suspects in the 2005 assassination of ex-Premier Rafik Hariri and related crimes.
