Mitri Rejects the Tripoli Mail Box Arena
Information Minister Tareq Mitri said Saturday persisting differences over Hizbullah”s resistance hamper agreement on a policy statement for the new cabinet.
Mitri, in a radio interview, said using Tripoli as "a mail box to send messages is not acceptable."
"Lebanon is not an open arena," Mitri stressed.
The ministerial committee drafting the new cabinet”s policy statement, of which he is member, has reached agreement on such topics as "Lebanese Syrian relations, security, commitment to UNSCR 1701,commitment to the Doha Accord, the international tribunal and the elections," according to Mitri.
"One topic remains pending, that is the role of the resistance," he added.
"The nation is clearly split and this split should be taken into consideration in all discussions," he noted.
