It is not acceptable to have two armies on the same soil
MP Farid Habib of the Lebanese Forces said that the delay in drafting the ministerial statement is unacceptable, as are the threats accompanying its drafting.
Addressing the opposition after meeting with Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Sfeir, Habib said, “You cannot take in times of peace what you failed to achieve in times of war.”
“Do not threaten us anymore, because it will not produce any results. Let us negotiate over Hezbollah’s weapons, because it is not acceptable to have two armies on the same soil,” he added.
MP Habib expressed hope that the army imposes order in Tripoli and turns it into a city free of weapons.
“We appreciate the army’s move in arresting the people who opened fire yesterday and who are left over from the previous era of [Syrian] tutelage,” he added.
