Druze leader Walid Jumblat visited MP Saad Hariri in Qoreitem on Tuesday, putting an end to rumors that he was quitting the March 14 coalition. An Nahar daily said Wednesday the meeting indicated that there was a strong understanding between the two leaders.

Hariri”s media office said the two men discussed the "latest political developments."

Hariri had earlier said that "no one can dominate the other or govern without partnership."

He said clashes in May between Hizbullah fighters and his supporters in Beirut "were a deep wound that needed some time to heal."

On Sunday Jumblat denied in an interview with NewTV that his reception of released Lebanese prisoner Samir Qantar in Abey indicated that he had entered into an alliance with Hizbullah.

But he also said that one cannot be Lebanese "without Arabism and without Palestine."

Jumblat told As Safir daily on Wednesday that he was still a member of the March 14 alliance. But he didn”t deny that he was "distinct" in his positions.

About the government”s policy statement, Jumblat told As Safir that it was time to get over with the issue and write down the ministerial statement as soon as possible.
