Geagea underlines “power of state” in ministerial statement talks
Head of the Lebanese Forces Executive Council Samir Geagea on Wednesday confirmed that there had been confrontation between the government and the opposition on the content of the ministerial statement.
“We heard some speeches lately that require some clarification. We do not want the Lebanese people to think that we have abandoned their major cause,” Geagea added.
After meeting with a delegation of Lebanese emigrants at his residence in Maarab, Geagea said Lebanon did not exist without a stable state. “The Resistance does not exist without the state, or without all the Lebanese people without exception,” he added.
The Lebanese Forces leader said ministers of the March 14 alliance were working to preserve the Lebanese state’s sovereignty and power during the meetings of the committee in charge of drafting the ministerial statement.
Geagea also underlined the importance of a powerful state as a sole basis of a safe and secure society.
