Jumblatt calls for respecting the Palestinians’ presence in Lebanon
Head of the Democratic Gathering bloc Walid Jumblatt said that some parties expected that the ministerial statement would include an item concerning the Palestinian people in Lebanon.
He added that everyone should respect Palestinian people’s presence in Lebanon, secure their legitimate and civil rights, especially after the conflicts between Fatah and Hamas.
Jumblatt also stressed the necessity of solving the issue of weapons outside the refugee camps in order to be able to discuss the defense strategy mentioned in the ministerial statement and the inaugural speech of Lebanese President Michel Sleiman.
During a commemoration in Katarmaya, Jumblatt called on Lebanese people to adopt Kamal Jumblatt, Rafic Hariri and Jamal Abdul Nasser’s principles and values until the return of the Palestinians to their home land.
