Conflicts in Tripoli did not end

MP Mosbah Al-Ahdab on Monday said that the conflicts in the Jabal Mohsen and Bab al-Tabbaneh areas in Tripoli did not end, despite the Lebanese army’s intervention.

He added that Hezbollah supporters and groups loyal to Syria are still putting sand bags at the main entrances of streets and neighborhoods, and the families who were forced to flee are still living in schools and shelters.

Ahdab told Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Seyassah that weapons are continuing to flow into the area, and Hezbollah is trying to use the arms to impose its power.

“Tripoli’s citizens are questioning the reason for [Hezbollah’s] calls for abandoning individual weapons, which is the sole way to defend their families, while the weapons are accumulating in some areas,” he said.
