MP Harb calls for reason and detachment
MP Boutros Harb said today that reason and detachment are key factors in ensuring the success of the new presidential mandate, after a meeting with President Michel Sleiman.
Harb said that the region is entering a crucial period of events, risks and ultimatums.
“The government ought to be able to hold the legislative elections according to our expectations,” Harb said, adding that the credentials of Interior Minister Zaid Baroud and the authority of President Sleiman and PM Siniora make it likely that democratic elections will be held.
Harb said that he said that he hoped that the visit of President Sleiman to Syria would be a first step to improving relations.
