Head of the Lebanese Forces Executive Council Samir Geagea said that the memory of August 7 is very important even though it was painful.
After meeting a delegation of the Lebanese Forces female office in Aley, Geagea said, “We are proud that there will be no more such sad memories after the Cedar Revolution and March 14 coalition.
He reaffirmed that the ministerial statement’s items were all clear except one item, which some people, he said, tried to misinterpret. For that reason, he said, Lebanese Forces expressed some reservations. He added that the statement clarified the state’s unity and all controversial issues, especially the defense strategy and the Lebanese internal and external policies.
“If any party thought that the statement gave them the right to take any decision without referring to all national partners, they are totally wrong because the state should be the sole reference for all defense, strategic and liberation issues,” he concluded.
