MP of the Lebanese Forces bloc George Adwan on Thursday said that Lebanon’s democracy is unique and that everyone should support it because global progress is based on freedom and democracy.
After meeting the European Parliament President Hans-Gert Pottering with MPs Samir Al-Jisr and Elie Aoun in Phoenicia Hotel, Adwan said that Europe could help Lebanon politically to liberate the Shebaa Farms and Kfar Shouba Hills as soon as possible and could help strengthen its constitutional institutions.
Adwan added that they discussed the possibility of supporting the Lebanese Army in order to be capable of defending the state’s sovereignty, liberty and independence.
He also said that Europe could help improve the economy, which faced hardship because of the unstable security
Lebanon needed stability, he said, and Lebanese people also needed free and honest elections in order to choose their representatives.
