Weapons issue will be solved through dialogue
MP Antoine Zahra of the Lebanese Forces said that March 14 managed to prevent Hezbollah from monopolizing Lebanon’s war-and-peace decisions and did not give the party a political right to launch military activities, as was the case in previous ministerial statements, including the 2005 version.
“The issue of weapons cannot be solved but through national dialogue so that the state has control over all weapons,” Zahra told Lebanese daily Al-Akhbar on Friday.
“No one has the right to anticipate the results of dialogue,” he added.
Commenting on the differences in positions within the March 14 forces, Zahra said that MP Walid Jumblatt is focusing on Lebanon as an Arab state by reiterating the country’s Arabism and its independence from foreign dictates, especially from Iran.
