Hezbollah rearmament is suicide for Lebanon
MP Georges Adwan of the Lebanese Forces said that betting on some parties rearming or betting that the state will be absent is a suicidal policy for Lebanon.
“This kind of gamble will lead nowhere,” Adwan said during a dinner for the Lebanese Forces over the weekend.
“Only building up state institutions, the army and the security forces can lead us to safety,” he said, adding that the upcoming parliamentary elections will be decisive.
“Either a strong state is built, or we will continue destroying the state. The emergence of a state-within-a-state,” he said in reference to Hezbollah, “will lead to the loss of the country.”
