PM Siniora comments on Tripoli bombing from Grand Serail
The prime minister speaks during a ceremony held in honor of students who have excelled in the official exams:
– This crime in Tripoli is a message that criminals want the security situation in Lebanon to remain unstable.
– The government will not spare any efforts in pursuing and punishing the criminals.
-I say to the criminals and to all Lebanese that the most effective weapon is our unity as Lebanese and our resistance to the enemies of Lebanon. We will prevail over them.
-When we are united, we can better face the enemies of Lebanon.
– I reiterate the call for reconciliation, and I join voices with President Sleiman on this matter.
– Neither Lebanon nor the Lebanese will be subdued or will live in fear. They will not surrender to criminals and terrorists. The Tripoli explosion will not have an impact on the government beginning its work, though that may have been the case in the past.
