The ruling March 14 coalition said it was for patching up ties between Lebanon and Syria in line with the Taif Agreement.
Relations between Lebanon and Syria must be based on mutual respect," March 14 stressed in a statement on Wednesday.
Lebanese-Syrian relations "should be nothing less than diplomatic ties between two sovereign states," the statement said.
"Both countries should pledge not to meddle in each other”s internal affairs," it added.
March 14 also urged both governments to end all forms of military ties between Syrian and Lebanese political groups.
They called on Syria to uncover the fate of Lebanese detainees held in Syrian jails.
